Overview

NEET UG is the single national-level entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BVSc & AH and most BSc Nursing seats across India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, it is the sole qualifying test for medical and dental courses in all government, private, deemed and central institutions, including AIIMS and JIPMER.

Eligibility Criteria

• Passed or appearing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English
• Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% for PwD)
• Minimum 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of admission
• No upper age limit; Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs and foreign nationals are eligible

Application Process

1. Register on neet.nta.nic.in with a valid email ID and mobile number
2. Fill in personal, academic and category details in the application form
3. Upload a scanned photograph, signature and required certificates
4. Pay the application fee online
5. Download the confirmation page; the admit card is released a few days before the exam

💡 Preparation Tips

• Master NCERT Class 11 & 12 line by line, especially Biology (360 of 720 marks)
• Solve at least 10 years of NEET previous-year question papers
• Take full-length timed mock tests to build OMR speed and accuracy
• Revise Physics formulae and Inorganic Chemistry reactions every week
• Maintain an error log and revisit weak chapters before the exam
