ISI Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) - one of India's most prestigious institutes for statistical and mathematical sciences, established in 1931. The test selects students for the highly competitive B.Stat (Honours) programme at ISI Kolkata and B.Math (Honours) at ISI Bengaluru. Only ~50-70 seats are filled across both programmes from thousands of applicants. ISI alumni go on to top global PhD programmes (Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Princeton) and into elite roles in quantitative finance, data science, academic research. The exam is one of the toughest in India for mathematical reasoning.

What's the difference between B.Stat and B.Math?
B.Stat (3-year, ISI Kolkata) focuses on statistics, probability, and applied math + economics; B.Math (3-year, ISI Bengaluru) is pure mathematics focused with abstract algebra, analysis, topology. Both lead to top PhD programmes globally.
How tough is the ISI Admission Test?
Extremely tough - considered harder than JEE Advanced for math sections. The subjective paper requires Olympiad-level proof-writing. Selectivity ratio is ~1:200 (1 selected out of every 200 applicants).
What are career paths after ISI?
