Overview

Directorate of Medical Education, Assam conducts the state's NEET UG-based counselling for MBBS, BDS and AYUSH seats across government colleges including Gauhati Medical College (GMC), Assam Medical College (AMC) Dibrugarh, Silchar Medical College (SMC), Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) and Tezpur Medical College. 15% of seats in every state government medical/dental college go to the All India Quota (AIQ), counselled separately by MCC (mcc.nic.in) - only the remaining share is filled through this state counselling.

1. Register on dme.assam.gov.in after the NEET UG result

3. Fill and lock choices in priority order
4. Check round-wise allotment and report to the allotted college

💡 Preparation Tips

• Gauhati Medical College and Assam Medical College Dibrugarh are Assam's oldest and largest government colleges; the state has been adding newer colleges (Jorhat, Tezpur), so check current intake before ranking
• Keep the standard document checklist ready - NEET UG admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, domicile/residence certificate, category certificate (if applicable), passport-size photos, and valid ID proof - keep both originals and photocopies ready for verification.
