Overview

State CET Cell, under DMER Mumbai, conducts Maharashtra's NEET UG-based counselling for MBBS, BDS and AYUSH seats. Maharashtra has the largest combined pool of government, municipal, private and minority medical college seats of any Indian state, spanning flagship government colleges (Grant Medical College Mumbai, B.J. Medical College Pune, Government Medical College Nagpur) alongside a very large private-college sector. 15% of seats in every state government medical/dental college go to the All India Quota (AIQ), counselled separately by MCC (mcc.nic.in) - only the remaining share is filled through this state counselling.

• Separate reserved categories for minority, linguistic minority (e.g. Gujarati/Jain minority colleges) and OCI/NRI candidates

3. Fill and lock choices in priority order across government, municipal, private and minority colleges
4. Check round-wise allotment and report to the allotted college

💡 Preparation Tips

• With India's largest private medical college sector, Maharashtra's closing ranks and fees vary enormously between government colleges and private/minority-quota seats - research fee structures college by college rather than assuming a flat rate
• Keep the standard document checklist ready - NEET UG admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, domicile/residence certificate, category certificate (if applicable), passport-size photos, and valid ID proof - keep both originals and photocopies ready for verification.
