BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is a national-level computer-based entrance examination conducted by BITS Pilani. It is the exclusive admission test for undergraduate engineering and integrated science programmes offered at BITS Pilani, BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad - no other institute accepts BITSAT scores. Unlike most entrance exams, BITSAT operates outside any centralised government counselling. Approximately 3-4 lakh applicants register annually, and admission is based on a raw BITSAT score (no normalisation across slots). The exam is moderately difficult but highly time-intensive - individual questions are simpler than JEE Advanced, but the speed, accuracy and breadth requirements make it demanding.

Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the current or previous year - only first-time pass candidates are eligible
Minimum 75% aggregate in PCM with at least 60% in each subject individually
Indian nationals and OCI/PIO candidates can apply
Class 12 board first-rankers in their respective state/central boards are eligible for direct admission to a course of their choice (subject to fulfilling the cut-off)
