University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), established in 1917 by Sir M. Visvesvaraya (the engineer-statesman who built Bangalore's modern infrastructure), is the oldest engineering college in Karnataka and a constituent of Bangalore University. Located in central Bangalore, UVCE has produced generations of engineers who built South India's tech and industrial backbone and is the most coveted state government engineering college in Karnataka.
