Nirma University, established 2003 (Institute of Technology started 1995), is one of Gujarat's premier private deemed universities. Located on a 110-acre fully-residential campus on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway in Ahmedabad, Nirma is consistently NIRF Top 100 Engineering and is the engineering wing of the Nirma Education and Research Foundation (founded by industrialist Karsanbhai Patel). Founded by Karsanbhai Patel (founder of Nirma detergent). Institute of Technology, Nirma (ITNU) was established in 1995 and folded into Nirma University in 2003. Among the most respected private deemed universities in western India.
