NIT (National Institute of Technology) Raipur, established 1956 as Government Engineering College and upgraded to NIT in 2005, is Chhattisgarh's NIT. Located on a 150-acre campus in Raipur, it is one of the few NITs offering biomedical engineering as a major program. Strong core engineering placements (~11 LPA avg) with growing CS pipeline.

One of only a handful of NITs with a Biomedical Engineering program. Heritage institution dating back to 1956 (predates many older NITs in age though NIT status came in 2005).

Admission through JEE Main via JoSAA counselling. ~900 B.Tech intake across 11 departments. CS branch cutoff around top 10000 JEE Main General. Chhattisgarh state quota (50%).
