NIT Jamshedpur (NIT JSR), established 1960 as RIT and upgraded to NIT in 2002, is Jharkhand's NIT. Located on a 341-acre campus in Adityapur near Jamshedpur - India's Steel City and home to Tata Steel - NIT JSR has India's strongest metallurgy and materials engineering legacy. Heritage faculty, deep Tata Steel industry connect, and steady CS placements (~12 LPA avg) make it a unique NIT for core engineering aspirants.
